Customer | Ikegami is a well-known provider of ultramodern medical cameras, recorders, and monitors that are available in Full HD as well as 4K UHD. The company stands for healthcare innovation and quality, and it has made a name for itself with its advanced technologies.
Remit | We were hired as a booth builder for Medica 2024 and were asked to design a unique booth concept that reflects Ikegami’s values and legacy.
Concept | Our booth concept combines traditional Japanese wood construction with modern elements. It is a perfect mix of traditional and modern features that presents Ikegami’s groundbreaking products in appealing, inviting surroundings.
Execution | We integrated shoji elements into the left side of the booth – wall elements inset with Japanese rice paper. That gives the booth authentic Japanese flair, but also creates a harmonious atmosphere. The right side of the booth features printed fabrics. For the wood (a softwood is traditional), we chose Douglas fir, which combines stability and elegance. The meeting room is also in a Japanese style and offers a peaceful space for quiet conversations. The real stars of the Ikegami trade-show presence, of course, are their high-tech products, which are arranged into four product groups in the front section of the booth. The product presentation takes the form of two-sided workstations that visually echo the booth’s structural and graphic themes.
Special feature | This project required precise craftsmanship and attention to detail. To build the shoji walls, we rolled the paper onto the frames, spread the glue on, and carefully pressed everything together. When the paper dries, it creates a tension that gives the walls strength and stability. We are proud that we can help Ikegami present its products in a unique setting.
